Youthful Adventures: A Poem by Nivedita Roy

Giggles, secret and million dreams
Lying with the backpacks under the trees
Free
souls  with no care
Gutsy enough to each day dare
Loitering around on narrow lanes
Racing with the clouds in vain
Diving into streams and lakes
Life was a piece of cake
Being in love with the idea of love
Fantasy, fiction imagination about all above
Curves of lips that only the mirror could decipher
Oblivious to parents advice
The only worries were pimples and spice
College was a preferred venue
Canteen served simple yet favorite menu
Sneaking out for fizzy drinks
Love was expressed in ink
Wish could press a rewind button

Where did those days disappear all of a sudden?
