Special Child: A poem by Omar Nassar

Image
Autistic or not, their disability has never been a disability Often born anemic or without any mobility Every disabled child has that miraculous possibility Even in hostile environments to enjoy divine nobility... Whether physically or mentally impaired they are rich at heart Endowed with their own rare moments of mirth Full of laughter and happy even when spiritually weak Aware only before one God salvation all do seek..... When a child wild or not, will ever remain a child Of sweet innocence whether deaf, dumb or blind Are all of fun and imagination of a similar bind Talented, creative, active and rarely left behind... Children of love created by God, and not odd But precious as gold,  from the times of old Are always endowed with unique brainpower And most grow up to be Society's respected manpower... Because of a special child, like a wildflower Has its unique magnet and fragrance With strong willpower to laugh, sing dance and play Though so often treated indifferentl

Proximity to perfection, humans can never draw Then why this different perspective for some children's special flaws They might look limbless  But in their minds, they have crossed The Sahara the Himalayas, the English channel, and Great walls They sprint to the horizon Where the blind bask under the Sun Absorbing all the photons for a purpose rather than fun While some are fearless enough To Design their own world beyond four walls Blessed with millions of attributes but cursed with only some Determination, feelings, willpower make them complete Then why those pitiful glances which they really don't need Let's all pledge with generations coming forth To never create a situation When the limbless feel frustrated to walk Or the blind experience, our pitiful glares Let's empower them to leave behind their flaws and defeat After all, it's our eyes which make them feel incomplete.

Special Children: A poem by Sahjahan Ali Ahmed

To carry on the current of life on this earth, God sends children here through the new birth. Most of them look cute and fair as a fresh flower, Being differently abled a few attract the attention of others. Some have only one eye, leg or a single  hand, Some cannot hear, talk or even properly stand. Others call them whatever, they've own brain,  Gifted in their own way, they're special children. They're special for they have a specialty in them, Can eat with feet or dance sans them in rhythm. Some have a sharper brain than the normal children, Better thinker as Stephen Hawkins, some have proven. From others viewpoint, they have got a deficiency in them, Their bodily deformities evoke pity or laughter often. Though blind, lame or dumb; they've their own world, They suitably adapt themselves to the struggle of survival. A child has no hand in the formation of ] body or mind God reveals His Will creating children of a special

Letting Go: A poem by Monika Kapur

On a brilliant day in early autumn, The ochre garden blessed with rays of the sun. The calm breeze soothing your soul and mind The swirling leaves, falling, leaving memories behind  Slowly and most gently they touch your face, Bringing a smile, before touching the ground with a  dull pace   I can hear a symphony playing somewhere around, I am lost, sipping in the beauty, transfixed to ground I am treading the path filled with beauty and I am dazed, The winter’s waking up slowly, the summer feels lazed  The fall’s aroma, its magical spell, the  rustling sound of leaves, The end could be so alluring to the soul, autumn strengthens that belief. The fair well so pristine, the air so breezy, I came back learning that, autumn makes look “letting go” so easy.

Let Go: Let life Begin: A poem by Neeti Parti

I looked at the flower of my life one fateful day It turned towards me and it’s eyes filled with hot tears ‘My petals have lost colour, they have withered, are shrivelled and drooping I need rain and sunshine or I am going to die!’ it said. I searched the core of my heart and found deep corrosive anger living within My ego had expected and demanded that everything work as per my design Negativity simmered because others had not measured up to my expectation I had let resentment define me, crippling my wellbeing Spitefulness, revenge and bitterness had overshadowed my spirituality It was time so I ‘let go’ and aligned my life to the Higher Truth…… And almost instantaneously, as though by miracle, it began to rain! As my moral chaos began untangling, I looked inwards at my own actions I found deep destructive fear living within I was in agony over my inability to live up to the expectations of others I had let the pain of humiliation define me, crippli

Children of a lesser God Unique and exceptional; Though differently abled But gifted and special. Burdened by chromosomal disorders, Devoid of light and lustre; Cloaked by autism, cerebral palsy, Erased of smiles and laughter. Afflicted by physical deformities And mental illnesses galore; Swimming against adversities Armed with a strong inner core. Endowed with a sixth sense, Intuitive qualities and talent; They're powerhouses of energy, Potential immense and latent. Their treasure troves are waiting To be unearthed and discovered; These buds will certainly blossom If nourished and nurtured.

Let Go: A poem by Munira Dalal

Image
Walking down a street despondent and sad Saw at the corner holding colorful balloons a lad Gleefully he released all of them in the sky Seeing his joy; I let go of my sorrow with a sigh Further ahead saw a starving family sharing scarce food Bought for them more, wanting to do a deed good Even in scarcity seeing them giving and sharing I let go of greed; contented counted each divine blessing Witnessed a funeral procession sad and solemn Helpless and lifeless a body carried by pallbearers in the coffin Wealth, status and power in that moment proved their futility I let go of my pride and ego with humility Dark grey looming clouds heavy-hearted and laden with rain Burst open to pour as though to wash away the pain When pent-up frustration and despair we let go Thoughts full of positivity and hope fill our minds so Free the mind of fears and failures of the past You have the right to choose your life to again recast Release jealousy, greed, hatred, anger, and despa

Let Go: A poem by Salman Fawaz Adewale

LET GO of the tender and tenous trappings of the past,  That has passed so fast you shouldn't allow the defeat to last, Or of the disdain incidence and sorrow, Of bygones that buried your hearts in the awful furrow. LET GO of predicaments that traveled your world slowly like the sun, From east to west, forget the torments, never quit the run, LET GO of foes like friends that implanted in your terrible fears, In yesteryears that painted your face with tears. LET GO of sins and hatred of what exists, Of quarrels and grudges, you should desist, To soar you must fledge in the atmosphere of now, You are the now of the present now and the future is now. When roads seem unclear and there's nowhere again to go, LET GO of depression it is your hope you should hold, If you still desire the effort to have counted on success, There are things to LET GO to see no duress.

Believe in Yourself - You Owe it to You: A poem by Smitha Vishwanath

Image
When no matter how hard you try, it isn’t enough, And the journey ahead seems nothing but tough, When friends ridicule you and others mock, Stand steadfast; be a rock! When those who love you, doubt your ability, And in their eyes, you see the fear, the uncertainty- Though they dare not say; ‘Pray don’t bother’ Have faith, keep going, know it’s’ only bad weather! You know, you can be what you want to be, If you can only say ‘I believe in me!’ And you dare to rise after every fall; wiser Know then, that you will succeed; sooner or later! For nothing is constant, not even failure, And nothing is impossible, of this, be sure. Your time will come, from the path don’t falter, Know, you in no way are lesser than another! Every bruise shall make you stronger, Your life a furnace to make you better, Know after every dark night, comes a bright new day, Just believe in yourself; you will find the way!

Village Life: A poem by Vasumathi Arvind

The sky is resplendent with the rosy rays of the rising sun Cock-a-doodle-do goes the rooster, less than none! The cow lets out a moo from its shed Eagerly awaiting the milkman with her calf skipping ahead. The hen comes strutting out of her coop with her little chicks in tow, The sheep hobbling along with their gentle lambs herded by a young lad, all in a row. Sparrows chirping, parrots whistling, mynahs squeaking, All in perfect harmony, a beautiful melody singing. Village belles with their bangles tinkling Along with their little daughters with a spring in their steps walking, A man on a cycle rings the bell Yes, he has loads of interesting goodies to sell! Curious, eager faces peer into his bags Searching for the one thing their hearts wish to grab. Somewhere on the lush green fields We hear the farmers’ sickles swishing but hearts singing! Men and women, old and young bond together, As with their contented hearts,  they spread good cheer. Peac

I'm innocent: A poem by Smitha Vishwanath

Image
A mere sidekick of modern-day technology Held responsible for the decline of human psychology The brain-child of man’s immense creativity And blamed for his own monstrosity! The new-age Frankenstein’s monster That’s what man makes of me When indeed, it is he who wreaks disaster Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, that’s how him I see! As a knife that cuts, I’m only a tool “Know how to manage me, not ban me, you fool” I can help you share information, communicate and voice your views I plead “Don’t let me be a bad man’s ruse!” I know my powers, I can help bridge distances Bring down governments; create leaders, make this a better place It’s not just propaganda, I can give instances Where I remained backstage, and yours was the pompous face! All countries reside in me, I have the largest population, ‘Social Media,’ I’m called; man’s friendliest creation, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, some of my many forms, Use me wisely and follow acceptable norms. I’m innocent!

Believe in yourself: A poem by Nazima Kachwalla

Image
It may seem like a mess, Difficult to understand, And impossible to assess,  Pieces in the maze may just not fit, Still try harder before the "I QUIT".  The silver lining will shine, "This is my destiny" to it, do not resign, Wear the big smile, stop the whine. Scratch out failure with a bold omit, Just a little harder before the "I QUIT". Let love replace hate, Rely once again on fate, Just remember its never too late. Bury the unpleasantness in a pit, Just a little harder before the "I QUIT" Time to have a torrid affair, Perk up the hope, entomb despair, Send a packing to all "THE BEWARE". Build up the confidence bit by bit, Just a little harder before the " I QUIT" The ability to believe in yourself shall change your life, Be not like dumb driven cattle, be a hero in the strife. Let your thoughts become words, words your action. And dare to dream with such deep conviction .

Village Life: A poem by Sujata Chatterjee

Oh! o'er there, O rustic lass Let's hear you sing your song Reaping the harvest all by yourself Snuggling to lambs that are sleeping long. Village bangle sellers at the  market place Colorful bangles red and green Tinkling as worn by the lasses again When at the sunset they are seen. Valleys and hills yonder there A rainbow glistening after the rain The cattle grazing over the meadows And the shepherd leading the way again. The womenfolk light the bright lanterns In the little huts made of mud and clay The sounds of vessels tinkling softly As they await their menfolk at the end of the day As the horses settle down on a meal of hay And the dusk descends on the hill The merry farmers that are homeward bound And the shimmering lake standing still.

My Village Life: A poem by Subhashchandra B.Adhav

In the urban life of great hustle bustle Nostalgic memories earnestly blow the comforting whistle Taking me back to my village, in mind’s castle Where in the grove of trees, leaves still enthusiastically rustle My village rises before sunrise yonder mountain In the wee hours, the only spirit of labor, springs like a fountain Cock crows in the courtyard, birds chirp on tree Fluttering wings they’re ready for soaring flight free Cattle tied in the shed, mow impetuously for water and fodder Cows anxious for getting milked, anxious their udder Cackling, strutting hens glean the scattered grains merrily To fetch water women go to the river hurriedly Lambs, kids, sheep, and goats graze frolicking in the pasture Breathing fresh air my village enjoys blissful nature On the bank of the river, the delighted flock of water birds Along with river, their life flows, awesome their world in the temple ringing, bells sound the alarm Serve your Black Mother with labor, stretching

A Village I Live in: A poem by Shamsul Haq

Image
A stroll around the still riverside Morning breeze and mellow sunshine The hazy hedges dotting narrow lanes Sporadic meadows speak emerald time A nondescript village where I live in! Homes with thatched roofs packed with peace It opens floodgates of gaiety, a message eternal Frail walls of old abodes with narratives abound Many-hued rustic settings, quite quintessential A nondescript village where I live in! A tired tiller recounts daily loss and gain Frolic kids everyday squeak with delight The womb of night resonates with sweet lullabies In the pitch dark, a preacher sees God's light A nondescript village where I live in! It's the hamlet that's groomed me I've collected umpteen nuggets of life A new dimension so far, yet I'm rooted to it It has given me a green go, a smooth glide Its serenity has lessened my daylong strife A nondescript village where I live in!

Second Chance: A poem by Shamsul Haq

Chances to the core call for a sheer commitment in unison Very often, millions of chances go unnoticed by a cynical lot A man of letter can materialize those to full connotation A sickening soul can never carve a niche in success slot At times, at the crossroad of life with looming chequered past Each time sighing on the missed chances that evaporated all the way With sledgehammer grit, I rose from the face of fall Some haunting, some howling as disheveled memories passed by Me, with an overpowering desire to come up with flying colors I undertook a lofty stride, never let it be ravaged by ruthless time I took initiative to materialize it in all dimensions I fostered fortitude amid million blessings from the celestial sky An inherent endeavor all along, braving against oodles of crises I couldn't stop the thunderbolts from their usual ruins My first chance thou' was dismantled by a set of obvious reasons Yet, with tail's up, I thwarted the throes of life with pers

Believe in Yourself: A poem by Sujatha Sairam

Life all of a sudden came to a standstill,  Everything appeared to be blurred and hazy,  "Why me of all?" spoke my inner voice.  "Is this the reward for my devotion and perseverance." I chided God when I heard the doctor saying,  "You need to undergo a major surgery, For the dreadful disease might take a toll. " I knew I was in safe hands,  But FEAR seemed to spread faster than my disease I didn't know how to overcome it,  Until my mom took over my fear in her hand. She in her usual comforting and soothing tone said.  "Believe in yourself and you can tackle The hardest of all the situations. Fear is just your state of mind,  Let it not weaken your indomitable spirit to fight back. Understand that your self-belief is the real cure,  You have to rise up from your fear. You have to live your life,  Shedding away all your fear

I know at times, all you see is the grey  That envelops your mind and smokes across your eyes While the black prepares to steal in from the edges To fleck your sight with its presence.  At such times, stop. And feel the red That pulses as strength from your depths  Flowing as courage and returning as hope  To the center of your existential core.  Listen to the subtle vibrations of your soul That makes it glow with the pristine blue Of the endless sky and the fearless sea, Both manifestations of your being. Observe the vibrancy of the green that surrounds you And sway in tune with the music it dances to. Trust that in your heart slumber the very sparks That makes leaves sprout after an autumnal equinox. Believe that in your own eyes is the light That sparkling sum of all colors, now confident in white. The greys may gather but will blow away like smoke. Have you ever seen the sky and its clouds yoked?

No Harm in Thinking Twice: A poem by Gigi Mejri

Image
When I inhale the smell of my dreams  Evaporating, quitting me pitilessly When I fall on my knees Soaked in the sweat of disappointment When I receive the fate shot and hit When I knock at doors yet they remain firmly shut I never give up I make of a second chance my brain chant When all around is haunting & poses a threat Saying " no way! you can't " I believe in the second chance And write it on my heart's entrance I give a second try for change is possible When the fence is too high for my feeble strength And I fail the jump I 'll offer myself a second chance I'll try again, I won't stop at the first attempt A second chance will come out of the trance And properly uses its lance

Second Chance: A poem by Aloysius Papang

Life is a constant battle, the world is a huge battlefield We're all brave soldiers who continuously fight with shield The battle that life combat seems exclusively tough Some withstand the fight and some are defeated and lost. The efforts that we all made to become the winners in life Some get dry out in its buds, some are bearing fruit and ripe In the course of our fights, there may be extreme rise and fall But the trial for success, an ending process once and for all. We collapse many times, life should never fail to rise back We may miss the first chance but the second one will be in tag For if we keep trying hard in the second attempt more labourously First chance maybe a failure but the second chance will be a victory. Life's struggle often teach every life to learn the best lesson Trial and success are part of the movement that keeps us fighting on Chances may come and go but life keeps moving on fearlessly To prove the fact; that

Life is a circle of pain It creates ripples too, Life is a cycle It bends and breaks, That way we are fixed. When you encounter troubles Double your strength, When you face challenges Triple your passion, That way, you sail through the storm. Until death, do not give up Once beaten, twice shy But once bitten, thrice fly That, I say to you. Our destiny has several links Until they are linked, we may keep tossing So stay put, there is a second chance. Always remember suicide is not the best option, Hang in there, the future is a mystery You can conquer the mastery. I

Second Chance: A poem by Mehak Gupta Grover

A second chance or an opportunity, the preference is ours. Be the master of your life and behold the power. Nothing is destined, no lines on the hand will work. It's sheer hard work and perseverance that will take you far. Move ahead with the power of positivity, for it can take you the long way. Where there are thorns,  roses grow along. Let the hope grow deep within us. Let the eyes sparkle that shines so bright. Be the master of your deeds, for they are what makes you breathe. Commitment is the key to grab the first possibility. Make your life praiseworthy And live with Excellency.

Life is like a roller coaster with hurdles and obstacles  A blow today could be a blessing tomorrow   Failure is temporary, it is a learning experience Great triumph comes out of trials and tribulations   When you fail in your first attempt, be calm  Don't despair, there is always a second chance  Life is full of possibilities and opportunities  Trust your ability to fix your destiny beautifully When your state of enthusiasm is strong, you can achieve  Nothing is impossible if you trust and believe  The greatest failure in life is being afraid to try A second chance is an opportunity to  thrive  Confront challenges courageously with confidence  Discard all disappointments, learn the art of patience  Proceed towards the direction of your dreams  Endeavor to live a life that flows like a stream  It is part of life to go through stormy sea and struggles Live a life that matters, a fighter is always a winner Pursue what you want to achieve with determination  Perseverance has a magica

They’ll laugh at you and even ridicule you They’ll endeavor too to enervate your spirits But let the force of their dissuasion empower your faith And the sound of their derision echo your belief Believe in yourself even when none believes you They’ll question your competency and shake your tenacity They’ll count your failures and label it destiny too But seek your answers in their qualms and queries And discern your lessons in your faults and failures Believe in yourself even when none believes you They’ll criticize when you are drowning in your fears They’ll overlook when you are screaming in pain But let the winds of denunciation strengthen your roots And their oblivion instigate you to heal your own wounds Believe in yourself even when none believes you They’ll suspect your ambitions when you are on a winning spree They’ll squeeze your optimism and never believe in your dreams But let their skepticism not propel you to quit And their pes
