A Womanly Dreamer: A Poem by Indrani Chatterjee

She is a dreamer of corny traits,
Never fluttered her wings beyond measure.
She never aspired to grapple the azure belt, For her affinity is embedded in the petit treasure.
Her capacious world was replenished by the cozy warmth of parental love
She and her dreams curled up undaunted in the shield of her homely pleasure.
 
Her dreams pertained to the concerns and expectations of her progenitors,
She yearned to observe the glistening benediction in their eyes for her,
And ever to be their obedient daughter,
She fruitfully adopted her role as a perfect peace-maker.
 
With time she matured ways has sculpted a world of her own,
And build a dream edifice where she reigns in peace, and blissfully handle.
She wants to summon holy vibration with her dedication,
To protect her consort and children from all that is formidable.
 
Her diligent execution has shaped her dream
And to play mother and wife she can move to any extreme,
To have her home shimmer with the succinct warmth of affection.
A legacy she has inherited from her mother,
Whereby she rejoices to be an achiever, as a perfect homemaker.

Born to doting parents on a chilly winter noon,  Grew up with four siblings, life was like a boon.   Then came an abrupt end to all my idle fooling,  Born again to lessons, as they started my schooling.  Thought had grown up, now that I was in college,  Born again to lectures, busy acquiring knowledge.  Got a job to my relief, set about to make a career,  Born again despite the whims of bosses every year.                    Married, now that I was grown up, happy to be released,  Born again, at my new home, with many to be pleased.  Then came my li'l Angel, happy the cycle had ended,  Born again as a parent, on us,  she wholly depended.  Finally put in my papers,  wanting to be an idyll,  Inner self, however, wanted my passion to unbridle.      Born again a writer, having found my Muse,  Loving it every bit, a life I got to choose. It looks just like 'ordinary' as the word is... No shiny wraps to cover its face... Simple as it looks, But every page has a hook for taking another look. Be gentle when you flip its page You'll find some imperfect perfect moments at every stage.. Don't skip a few... for it bores you... You might miss  my  accomplishments, tucked away neatly in a line or two...   They say, ' Life  is not a bed of roses'  You'll see... Some lines are full of agony and bruises...
