When darkness looms overhead: A poem by Vasudha Pansare

When darkness looms overhead,
When dark dense clouds of desolation,
Seem to threaten humanity,
When every day seems a calamity,
When we are facing devastation,
We must remember that this too shall pass.

Every century a pandemic has occurred,
We have survived two world wars,
Human history is full of darkness and death,
But indomitable is the human spirit,
Wonderful is human valor,
Which fights till the last breath,
Let's not forget that this too shall pass.

When darkness looms overhead,
A bright lamp of hope is enough,
When circumstances are tough,
We can't give up and surrender,
We have to remember,
That tomorrow might be better,
That this too shall pass.

Life goes on, in spite of tragedy,
There is love and laughter
In the midst of fears and tears,
There will be a beautiful dawn hereafter.
