PRESS RELEASE

 The Asian Literary Society (ALS) is a literary community founded by writer Mr. Manoj Krishnan with the mission to promote Asian art, culture, and literature, and to spread its fragrance across the world. 

 The Asian Literary Society organized its 2nd ALS LIT FEST on 28th February 2020 at DELNET, New Delhi. The celebration started with a welcome address by Mr. Manoj Krishnan followed by a lamp lighting ceremony and chanting. The Chief Guest, Shri Balmiki Prasad Singh (Former Governor, Sikkim) inaugurated the literary festival. Shri Amarendra Khatua (Former Secretary, MEA), Dr. Mridula Tandon (President, Sakshi - an NGO), Shri Syer Farooq (Director, Himalaya Drug) and Shri Sudarshan Kcherry (CEO, Authorspress) graced the occasion with their august presence.

 The highlight of the 2nd ALS Lit Fest was the felicitation of the Winners of Indian Women Achievers Awards 2020, newly instituted by ALS for yeoman contributions in the Arts, Literature, and Social Work.

 This was followed by the release of a large number of books - "Waves of Fortune" by Dr. Sujata Chatterjee, "Marti and other Poems" by Ms. Nancy Paul, “Enchanting Embers” by Mr. Devendra Sahu, “The Changing Face of India” by Ms.Ishrat Umar, “Poetry Shots - High on Haiku and Three-line Poetry” written by Ms. Vyomi Malik and illustrated by Ms. Neetu Malik, “Splash – The Unremitting Drizzle’” containing sketches by Dr. Latika Shah Singh, as well as three ALS anthologies compiled and edited by Manoj Krishnan - "A Kaleidoscope of Asia",  "ALS 2019: an Anthology of Short Stories", and "ALS 2019: a Bilingual Anthology of Poems".

 After this, several eminent poets from all over India and abroad held the audience spellbound by their Poetry Recitation. Another attraction of the evening was the Music and Shayari segment curated by Ms. Anita Chand, where Ms. Geethanjali Dilip and Dr. Rakshanda Roohi Mehdi won the hearts of the audience with their performances.

 Ms. Vyomi Malik, Ms. Kiren Babal, Ms. Itee Jain, and Ms. Gaurisha Singh compered the event. The event ended with the felicitation of all the participating poets and writers by the dignitaries.

 The 2nd ALS LIT FEST was a literary extravaganza where many shining stars in the world of literature congregated to share their ideas and creative talents, in enthusiastic support of ALS and its initiatives.

एशियन लिटरेरी सोसाइटी ( एएलएस ) एक साहित्यिक समुदाय है जिसकी स्थापना लेखक श्री मनोज कृष्णन ने एशियाई कला, संस्कृति और साहित्य को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए की है।

एशियन लिटरेरी सोसाइटी ने 28 फरवरी 2020 को नई दिल्ली के डेलनेट में द्वितीय एएलएस लिट फेस्ट का आयोजित किया। मुख्य अतिथि श्री बाल्मीकि प्रसाद सिंह (पूर्व राज्यपाल, सिक्किम) ने इस साहित्य उत्सव का उद्घाटन किया। श्री अमरेन्द्र खटुआ (पूर्व सचिव, विदेश मंत्रालय), डॉ. मृदुला टंडन (अध्यक्षा, साक्षी एनजीओ), श्री सयैद फ़ारूक़( डायरेक्टर, हिमालया ड्रग)  और श्री सुदर्शन कचेरी (सीईओ, ऑथर्सप्रेस) ने भी इस समारोह में शिरकत की।

द्वितीय  एएलएस लिट फेस्ट का मुख्य आकर्षण इंडियन वीमेन अचीवर्स अवार्ड्स 2020 के विजेताओं का सम्मान समारोह  था, जिसमें  कला, साहित्य और सामाजिक कार्य में विशिष्ट  योगदान के लिए  महिलाओं को पुरस्कृत किया गया।

इसके बाद डॉ. सुजाता चटर्जी द्वारा लिखित "वेव्स ऑफ फॉर्च्यून", सुश्री नैंसी पॉल की "मार्टी एंड अदर पोएम्स", श्री देवेंद्र साहू की "एनचेंजिंग एम्बर्स  ", सुश्री  इशरत उमर की "चेंजिंग फेस ऑफ़ इंडिया", सुश्री व्योम मलिक एवं नीतू मालिक की “पोएट्री  शॉट्स” , डॉ. लतिका शाह सिंह के स्केच सम्मिलित एंथोलॉजी  “ स्पलैश”  तथा श्री मनोज कृष्णन द्वारा संकलित एवं सम्पादित - "ए कैलीडोस्कोप ऑफ एशिया", "एएलएस 2019:  एन एंथोलॉजी ऑफ शॉर्ट स्टोरीज", और "एएलएस 2019: ए बाइलिंगुअल एंथोलॉजी ऑफ पोएम्स" का विमोचन किया गया।
इसके बाद, भारत और विदेश के कई प्रतिष्ठित कवियों ने अपनी कविता पाठ से  श्रोताओं को मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया। शाम का एक और आकर्षण सुश्री अनीता चंद द्वारा प्रस्तुत संगीत और शायरी का कार्यक्रम था , जिसमें सुश्री गीतांजलि दिलीप और डॉ. रक्षंदा रूही मेहदी ने दर्शकों का दिल जीत लिया।

सुश्री व्योमी मलिक, सुश्री किरण  बाबल, सुश्री इति जैन और सुश्री गौरीशा सिंह ने  कार्यक्रम का संचालन  किया।  इस कार्यक्रम का समापन  कवियों और लेखकों के सम्मान के साथ हुआ।

सभी विशिष्ट अतिथियों एवं श्रोतागणों  ने एशियन लिटरेरी सोसाइटी के द्वारा आयोजित इस सफल कार्यक्रम की बेहद सराहना की।

You left to accomplish your onus to the nation with pride Leaving behind your aroma and love for the new bride. The orange ball rises, piercing the dark skies But she awaits your return, with those dusky brown eyes The taste of your last touch, on her fervent lips, The warmth of your arms sank her in petrichloral dips. The musk of your embrace is saturated in her breath   She’ll wait for you until she meets death    The long wait made her rough, brittle, and dry Still, she beams with the longing that you’ll return, or at least try A few pearls dropped soothing the warm dusk Along with wet kisses settling the hollow dust   The rains that were seized at the corner of her eye And the rains that were waiting at the heavenly doors, Finally, poured out on his startling arrival, As they waft the soothing aroma again Of Love and Petrichor!
