Jasmine: A poem by Vandana Saxena

Dew that’s caressed by the first light,
makes you look whiter and bright!
Pollen turns yellower in the new dawn,
beautifies your serenity to the lawns!

Five white petals tender and soft
appears to be an enlivened frost,
Sap greens dancing to the tunes of wind
creates a sight to be forever pinned

Brighter the day, wider your smile
with you around, I can walk for miles
The pride that‘s intact from dawn to dusk
is embraced by your subtle, elusive musk

If a flower can laugh, that is you
inducing the world into happier new
Not for money, not for fame,
you’re unrelatedly my daughter’s name

Addicted to you over orchids and rose
the drug to be inhaled to overdose
Giving a high, buzzing my brain
Oh! Jasmine, You’re perfectly Insane!
