Red Lotus: An article by Khushboo Yadav

According to legend, everywhere the baby Buddha stepped, a lotus flower bloomed. Since the lotus grows in muddy water, it symbolizes the purity of the enlightened mind arising amidst the suffering of samsara.

In Buddhism, the Red Lotus is related to the heart, and it is the symbol of Love and Compassion. Buddha spread the message of Love and Compassion to the world. He abolished the discrimination between the rich and the poor and high and low.

The Red Lotus is a symbol of purity of heart. It stands for a heart that is full of love and compassion and passion. Buddha said, "Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love, this is the eternal law."

Red symbolizes lifeforce, preservation, fire and sacred things or places. Humanity needs love and Compassion. Men wage war for petty things. Thousands of innocent are killed in this heinous war. Waging a war people can win a country or state, but peace of mind is lost.Hearts can be won by only love and Compassion. One who wins the hearts of people is a real king.

If your heart is pure and full with love and Compassion, you can attain enlightenment and enlightenment leads you to the path of salvation. So, let this red lotus of love and Compassion bloom in our hearts. Love and Compassion bind us as one.
