Press Release: Celebrating Asian Literature through ‘Bhaasha’
The Asian Literary Society (ALS), a popular literary platform that took root one and half years ago as an online entity has rapidly grown into a real-world literary body with over ten thousand members. ALS is committed to serving society and humankind through a variety of programs and initiatives. Its first step in this direction is the initiation of a series called ‘Bhaasha’ that aims to highlight the rich heritage of Asian Literature. As the first chapter of this series, ALS has chosen to focus on the rich heritage of the Hindi language – the jewel in India’s crown.
On July 6, 2019, the Asian Literary Society in collaboration with ‘Authorspress’ organized ‘Bhaasha’ – a Hindi Literature Fest in New Delhi, in which eminent Hindi writers and scholars participated.
The Inaugural session began with a welcome address by Mr. Manoj Krishnan (Founder, ALS), followed by the traditional lamp lighting ceremony and chanting of hymns. The Chief Guest, Dr. Narendra Mohan (poet, playwright, and writer of the famous Hindi serial ‘Ujaale ki or’ for Doordarshan) and the Guest of Honour, Dr. Ganga Prasad Vimal (poet, novelist, and father of the ‘Akahani’ revolution in Hindi literature) inaugurated the event. During their talks, both these luminaries held the audience spellbound with their profound knowledge of Hindi literature. Mr. Sudarshan Kcherry (CEO, Authorspress) in his address to the audience expressed his solidarity with ALS and its vision.
In the session that followed, eminent literary personalities presented their articles on varied topics. Prof. Chandradev Yadav (Professor of Hindi, Jamia University) shared his views on Hindi literature in modern days. Ms. Kiren Babal (ALS Ambassador) presented an article about the literary journey of legendary writers Mahadevi Verma and Subhadra Kumari Chouhan. Mr. Parvez Shaharyar (Sub Editor, NCERT) expressed his views on the relevance of Munshi Premchand's literary works in the present day. Ms. Ranjeeta Ashesh (Founder, Kshitij) spoke about the role of Hindi literature in the freedom struggle. This was followed by poetry recitation by eminent poets and writers, such as Ms. Neeti Parti, Dr. Mandira Ghosh, Ms. Anju Malik Chaudhary, Ms. Aparna Jha, Ms. Monalisa Joshi, Ms. Richa Dixit, Ms. Ritu Taneja, Mr. Suhaib Ahmad Farooqui, Ms. Vyomi Malik, Dr. Vinita Nirula, Ms. Anjana Kushwaha, Mr. Rajan Mehra, Mr. Abhishek Goswami, Ms. Nirmala Singh, and Dr. Nikhat Bano.
Ms. Anita Chand and Dr. Rakhshanda Roohi Mehdi (erudite writers and ALS administrators) compered this event, interspersing their talk with valuable nuggets of information about Hindi literature. The program ended with the felicitation of writers and a vote of thanks. This initiative by ALS received a very warm and positive response from the participants as well as the audience members.

एशियन लिटरेरी सोसायटी एक साहित्यिक संस्था है जिसके दस हजार से अधिक ऑनलाइन सदस्य हैं। ये संस्था समाज एवं मानव कल्याण के लिए समय-समय पर सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन करती है। इस संस्था ने एशियाई भाषाओं की समृद्ध साहित्यिक विरासत पर भाषा नामक एक श्रृंखला शुरू की है और हिंदी भाषा को इसके पहले अध्याय के लिए चुना। 6 जुलाई 2019 को एशियन लिटरेरी सोसायटी एवं ऑथर्सप्रेस द्वारा इस भाषा उत्सव का आयोजन किया गया।
एशियन लिटरेरी सोसायटी के संस्थापक, लेखक एवं कवि श्री मनोज कृृष्णन के स्वागत विज्ञप्ति व दीप प्रज्जवलन से कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ हुआ। मुख्य अतिथि डॉ. नरेंद्र मोहन जी एवं विशिष्ठ अतिथि डॉ. गंगा प्रसाद विमल जी ने उत्सव का श्री गणेश किया। ऑथर्सप्रेस के सी.ई.ओ. श्री सुदर्शन केचरी जी ने संस्था के साथ अपनी प्रतिबद्धता का परिचय दिया।
प्रो. चंद्रदेव यादव ने वर्तमान हिंदी साहित्य पर प्रकाश डाला। किरण बाबल जी ने सुभद्रा कुमारी चौहान एवं महादेवी वर्मा के रचनात्मक सफर का वर्णन किया। डॉ. परवेज़ शहरयार ने प्रेमचंद के साहित्य की वर्तमान में प्रासंगिकता पर विचार प्रकट किए। रंजीता अशेष ने स्वतंत्रता संघर्ष में साहित्य का योगदान पर वक्तव्य दिया। इन सब के अतिरिक्त प्रसिद्ध कवियों नीति पार्ति, मंदिरा घोष, अंजु मलिक चैधरी,अपर्णा झा, मोनालिजा जोशी, रिचा दीक्षित, रितु तनेजा, सुहेब अहमद फारूक़ी, व्योमी मलिक, विनीता नरूला, अंजना कुशवाहा, राजन मेहरा, अभिषेक गोस्वामी, निर्मला सिंह और निखत बानो ने अपनी रचनाएं प्रस्तुत की।
सुश्री अनिता चंद और डॉ. रख़्शंदा रूही ने प्रभावशाली ढंग से कार्यक्रम का संचालन किया। रचनाकारों को सम्मानित करने के साथ कार्यक्रम का समापन हुआ। समस्त लेखकों ,साहित्यकारों व अतिथिगण ने इस साहित्य उत्सव का हार्दिक स्वागत किया|
