Red: A poem by Gomathi Mohan

Image
Red Riding Hood and the wicked wolf's fairytale, Santa Claus in candy apple suit, hearty and hale. Raspberry, strawberry apple, cherry, glowing in red like none, Painted and tainted among all colors,  though the most potent one. Carnelian stopper in signals when all we want is to run, Flagging scarlet red before the bull, for heaven's sake, is no fun. Vermilion dot on the forehead, she subtly announces being wed,  Also chooses to wear ornaments with the ruby in them embed. Green paan turns rich in carmine so fresh and robust,   Same turn to ugly brick red when spat on to dust. Imperial red carpet rolled out for a VIP's airs and ornery, While in satin ladybug, bride gleams in all her marriage finery. Velvety petals of red rose sought in bath for solace, Bouquet for teacher beautifully arranged with coral red gladiolus.   Drastic downfall from auspicious to an abominable Red Light,   Re...

Red: A poem by Geethanjali Dilip

Image
Infrared rays permeating within the soul as angst, In a mute scream whose echoes go unheard under molesting gangs, Rad alert of mob fury answering corrupt fangs, As bloody teardrops drip down Mother justice, her resignation hangs, The burning red of poverty that stokes the gut, Burning to cinders in famished stomachs of childrenтАЩs huts, As selfish smoke rings spiral mocking at breath in a cigarette butt, Red is the pigment of monstrous apathy in a demonic rut. Love bites that leave scars that donтАЩt hurt anymore, Heart chambers breeding memories of yore, Stains in patterns on palms as henna their color pour, Red soil that line Kolams for auspices outside the door. Red is a taste that looks for answers, Red the rose petals that wither from Valentines leaving fragrant banters, Red is the line of the earth and sky in loveтАЩs whispers, Red soaks the tongue as betel leaves the alerts colors, Red is death that spreads to end all the pain in terminal ca...

Sky paints with colorful rainbow  Red is a bright striking color  Brighten up the clear blue sky Hot red bond of affection on my mind Bed scattered with red rose petals  Sweet fragrance enticing romantic lovers The precious moment together a pleasure  Passion flows swiftly like a river Red cherry sweet and juicy Fresh fruit juice is healthy   Quenching thirst in hot summer day Enduring the scorching sun rays Fine dine celebration in candlelight  Complete with glasses of red wine Cheers, rejoice in jubilation  Toss and rise to the occasion  Red a warning to alert danger Be cautious to face the future  Move your steps with determination  Confidence determines achievement.

Red Lotus: An article by Khushboo Yadav

Image
According to legend, everywhere the baby Buddha stepped, a lotus flower bloomed. Since the lotus grows in muddy water, it symbolizes the purity of the enlightened mind arising amidst the suffering of samsara. In Buddhism, the Red Lotus is related to the heart, and it is the symbol of Love and Compassion. Buddha spread the message of Love and Compassion to the world. He abolished the discrimination between the rich and the poor and high and low. The Red Lotus is a symbol of purity of heart. It stands for a heart that is full of love and compassion and passion. Buddha said, "Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love, this is the eternal law." Red symbolizes lifeforce, preservation, fire and sacred things or places. Humanity needs love and Compassion. Men wage war for petty things. Thousands of innocent are killed in this heinous war. Waging a war people can win a country or state, but peace of mind is lost.Hearts can be won by only love and Compassion. On...

Dewdrops: A poem by Sahjahan Ali Ahmed

Image
Dewdrops drop, drop by drop From veils of the wintry morning, And hang on to leaves of grass As pearls of a queen's earring.        At the caress of the soft sweet sun In delight  like gold, they glitter, As in night sky around the moon   Twinkle a million bright star.        Morning grows into noon soon. Drop by drop, drops on the ground Dewdrops, as beads from a torn Rosary, never again to be found. Life's a dewdrop on an arum leaf. While life vibrates as violin's string If dropped, like dropped dewdrop, Vanishes like vapor, never seen. Roses grow even in the deadly desert, Drinking dewdrops ere they vanish . Make life like sparkling dewdrops, Ere as dropped dewdrop it finishes.

Dewdrop: A poem by Shamsul Haq

Image
The golden dewdrops embolden the slumbering soul In the wee hours of morn on the earth's bosom The bliss of life dripping from the gossamer blades of grass The pearly dewdrops amplify the ample beauty of nature A rare beauty is archived deep down the heart A ravishing speck speaks volumes of God's grandeur The bedewed creepers glorify the mystic morning Beguilingly blended in beauty- whether an enigma or wizardry? Ephemeral it is! that's inherently tagged to their utter halo The nimble mind is flooded with a set of fabulous muses The dewdrops start coagulating at the fag end of midnight As the pearls are sleeping silently in the womb of oyster The shafts of sunlight enlight yet again a heraldic day The day unfolds the fantabulous treasured beauty A vivacious vista unlocks the nature's nuance in galore The refractive reality superimposes the realm of reality

The magic of dew drops: An article by Vandana Bhasin

Image
I have always been mesmerized by the grandeur and colors of nature. As a young girl, I wondered why the leaves shed tears at night. Do they feel upset at the maltreatment meted to them by some people around us? Was it natureтАЩs way of showing its melancholic state? As I grew up, I mustered the courage to carefully feel those tender pearls on the petals of the potted pink roses in our garden. It was a magical moment! Their touch was mystical though I didnтАЩt like the fact that they vanished on my touch. I realized that they magnified the exquisiteness of my favorite flower! It then dawned on me that they were not natureтАЩs blues but these dewdrops were a drizzle of love from the sky above to the flora on the earth. It was a gentle тАЬGood MorningтАЭ kiss to the vivacious vegetation. My mother always advised me to walk barefooted on the lush green grass sparkling with dewdrops early in the morning.  She believed that every fragment of nature oozes with ener...

Silvery dream: A poem by Gomathi Mohan

Image
Silvery dream-drop drops down from heaven in the still dark night, Wake up to see a rainbow marble gleaming in the dawn light. Millions of iridescent smiles happily bidding the night adieu,  Grass scintillating in its brilliance, welcoming the day anew, Heart leaps with joy at the sight of a dazzling diamond drop, Spread over meadows, verges, fields, dream snoozing on the crop.  Sparkling icy frost lipped by  squirrels and licked by rabbits, Prismatic pearl finds its way into bird beaks too, out of habit. Glistening on cowslips, glissading down the leaf, Dew soaked dandelions dance in landscape's relief. Damp crystal bead rests on  birds and peacock's feather, Myriad hues in eye-catching sheen, like moorland's purple heather. Skyflower also adorns the buds, cradled in petal's cloister,  Similar to Svati, the first raindrop seeking its solace in an oyster. Fresh and fragile the glossy pearl, skims on the...
