That Pain: A poem by Rupal Desai

Extreme pain...
is to see your beloved on deathbed.
Sleeping on a white linen covered pyre.
Screaming with pain...
Breathing heavily under ventilator.
Unconscious.
Unable to sleep.
Stretching life unwantedly.
Pleading for death
Farawaydeathlaughs.
Refuses to come.
Tears and prayers...
for freedom for that wounded soul.
That pain...
A sharp pain kills you from inside.
That pain of guilt...
for bribing death to release the soul of your beloved.
That pain of cutting the bond of love.
That pain of eternal separation.
Sometimes I get confused.
Which one is the worst pain?
That pain which delivers the soul covered with body
Or...
The pain which frees the soul from the body?
