Holiday Season: A Poem by Kishor Kumar Mishra

Image
To the farthest south, as the Sun travels The northern hemisphere sees the Winter solstice The holiday season starts with celebrations Monotony takes a brake, with joy and jubilation. The scorching heat of the Sun is not felt Not seen the dark clouds in the sky Cold wind blows around the northern globe Stretches blue canopy, the clear sky above. The Sun smiles in a mood joyful Moving out becomes cozy and comfortable Fairs and festivals take their turn One after another, come for the celebration. The great time wheel rolls on and on Days, weeks, months, and years pass on Seasons arrive on Earth one after the other Festive season too takes its turn every year.

More than Just Diary: A Poem by Ritu Kamra Kumar

Image
My diary is my dearest passion  It stores my true emotions Random reflections & Spontaneous scribbling Crystallizes my silly secrets & sagacious sensibilities    Overwhelming, it is filled up to brim With aspirations glorious & impressions grim Record of my growing years evolving My fears, fret & angst absolving   Fights & frights, gay & grey moods Made & marred relations, bonds Subdued Travails & triumphs, my scars & secrets Witness to all! My diary is my precious cabinet    Scrawls & slangs, diction & dialects Etymology, style from cursive to capital Speaks volume about my protean temperament  Yes! My diary comprehends my element eloquent    I just keep plodding along with the written words Reading diary is rediscovering myself It is a record of the inner recesses of my mind My constant companion, my tryst with it is for a lifetime  ...

Me and My Diary: A Poem by Jayashree Bhattacherjee

Image
At dusk when the sky spills over patches of amber, crimson, orange, and grey With my head bent over my diary I sit by the window every day Silently penning on it my fluid thoughts of  hope and dream Secret words gushing out on it steadily like a stream With spontaneous pleasure, I write about the simple joys of the azure skies  Magic of the seasons with their varied beauties A wondrous portrait of the world is drawn Laden heavy with the ruby sunset and the hope of a new dawn My diary knows all about my love, my desires, my ecstasies 'n emotions My frustrations 'n frowns, my scars, and my depressions Everything I share with it is a piece of me Pouring out my heart and soul over it, how relieved I seem to be How patiently it listens to everything that I say Unlike humans, it never criticizes nor does it ever betray. Like that of Anne Frank's diary, it might not be a masterpiece But me and my diary share a special bond, with it I am always at peace I feel I owe this precious p...

Dawn of Hope: A Poem by Jayashree Bhattacherjee

Image
Cocooning in our houses, the world has turned upside down Fear gripping, all living an isolated life, so lone Days are dark and depressive, nights, black and bleak With the raging rampant virus extensively reaching the peak Innocent lives snatched away, families torn asunder Dreams lost, with a host of challenges we flounder Yet amidst all grief and gloominess kindles the dawn of hope Immersing languid lids of lethargy, all odds we'll be able to cope Even in darkness, the imaginal cells start awakening Weaving a new web with the light of energy-burning As the nascent rays, through the haze, will pierce the clouds They'll remove all fears and darkness that the night enshrouds The aurora, for sure, will replete the darkness with dewy delight The magical morning will nurture souls with sublime beauty bright The night will dawn, the night will mourn Dawn will emerge stronger than sadness, brighter than gladness of victory won This is our chrysalis moment where transformation begins...

Holiday Season: A Poem by Manisha Amol

Image
A season to rejoice! and a reason to conspire; Against all the profanity, Or the treason of humanity, To create an atmosphere of amity. Kickstarts with the culmination of autumn Navratri sets in the festive mood awesome Diwali decorates with sparkling fluorescence Chhath Puja worships the powerful Sun’s essence As the winter tip toes in with grace Night gets calm warm are the days Visible vibrant sky with scattered clouds Inhale the fresh air leaving no room for a doubt In a bond of love wrap your identity With the near and dear ones spend the time quality Unwrap the fearsome mind of negativity Embrace with openness the season of festivity As the Christmas bells ring with joy Light up our hearts with a clamorous ahoy To overcome the effects of any dangerous ploy Live to the fullest best time to enjoy New Year is round the corner To wish all of us with a feisty  fervor No more suffering or pangs of fear Brush aside all the worries for a bright future

I Know You Miss Me: A Poem by Vasudha Pansare

Image
I know you miss me, When you listen to a song I used to hum, When you laugh at a joke, You would have liked to share with me. I know you miss me, And yearn to look into my eyes, I know you miss my shy smiles, I know you miss the way I looked at you, The way I blushed when I saw you. I too miss you so much, I miss your warm glances, I miss your loving touch, I miss waiting for you under the trees, I miss walking with you on windy days. You have vanished somewhere in this world, I know not where to find you, I don't know why you left me, But I know you remember me,  I know you miss me.

I Know You Miss Me: A Poem by Jayashree Bhattacherjee

Image
With a jolt you sit up after a sleepless dark night Trying uselessly to gather yourself with all your might And as the leaves shake in the air With my thought in your mind, you start your morning prayer You ruminate, when I was around, how everything seemed to be I can feel how strongly you do miss me. During sundown, in a trance you step into my room The silence and emptiness grips you and fills you with gloom You think of our mother- daughter conversations, my silly pranks and fights You miss my voice that still echoes in your ears, my random talks at nights. When you stand under the sky, look up and search for a star It shows how you miss me beyond measure since we are apart Look up and smile, don't be sad, think of the happy times we have had Your girl loved you with every inch of her heart. Last year unfortunately and shockingly you lost me to Covid Since then you keep on whispering my name with your lips turned livid I know you miss me as you shed your tears So loving was our...
