When I look into my eyes: A poem by Monika Kapur

When I look into my eyes,
I could see the compassion of a mother
The unconditional love for the kids
The plethora  of emotions, undeterred

When I look into my eyes,
I see a doting wife smiling,
A companion, an equal of my husband,
Her charm and wit beguiling

When I look into my eyes,
I see a never aging, free-spirited woman
Ready to dance in rain even now,
A little girl at heart, an angel disguised as human

When I look into my eyes,
I see I could tame the violence of storms
I am continuous rain of self-love
I am the resplendent sun that drenched the soul with warmth
